Olivia Colman Changed Her Name

British actress Olivia Colman was born Sarah Sinclair, nee Colman, but she had to use a different stage name when she began working professionally. Equity, the UK actors' union, already had an actress registered as Sarah Colman, so she could not perform under her real name. She chose Olivia Colman instead, and that became the name attached to her Oscar, Emmy, and BAFTA-winning career.
