The first detailed medical description of Parkinson’s disease appeared more than 200 years ago when English surgeon James Parkinson published An Essay on the Shaking Palsy in 1817. Since then, doctors have mapped its symptoms, linked it to the loss of dopamine-producing neurons, and built treatments that can ease tremor, stiffness, and slowed movement. But major medical sources still say the exact cause remains unknown, there is no cure, and early diagnosis before obvious symptoms is still a major challenge.
