King Tut’s Caucasus Ancestor

King Tut’s Caucasus Ancestor

A 2011 report said King Tutankhamun belonged to the Y-chromosome haplogroup R1b1a2, a lineage also found in about half of Western European men but in less than 1 percent of modern Egyptian men. This means these Europeans and Tut shared a much older common ancestor who may have lived in the Caucasus about 9,500 years ago.
