Ed Toutant Won Again

Ed Toutant Won Again

In 2001, IBM employee Ed Toutant appeared on "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" when the jackpot had climbed to $1.86 million. He lost at the $16,000 question after answering a flawed question about a genetically modified vegetable, and the show later realized the setup was wrong because the experiment had been done in Scotland, not England. Producers invited him back and reset the jackpot to the same $1.86 million it had reached on his first run. On his return, Toutant made it all the way to the end and won the full jackpot.
