Carl King Became The Thousand

In Marvel’s story “The Thousand,” a man named Carl King saw the radioactive spider that bit Peter Parker and decided to eat it himself, hoping he would gain Spider-Man’s powers. Instead, the spider’s altered biology transformed him into a hive-like mass of about 1,000 spiders that could work together as a single being. Carl then survived by devouring people from the inside and wearing their skin like a human disguise.
