Zagreb’s 550,000 World Cup Welcome

After Croatia finished as runners-up in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Final, the national team flew back to Zagreb to an overwhelming reception. More than 550,000 fans reportedly flooded the streets to welcome them home. The turnout became the largest public gathering in Croatia’s history, even without a championship trophy.
