In northern Australia, Aboriginal Australians traditionally eat something called a bush coconut, but it is not a plant at all. A moth larva lives inside the root of a bloodwood tree, and people dig up the swollen root to pull the grub out. The larva has a white, fatty body that people say tastes like coconut, which is how it earned the name.
