Bend Blockbuster Became Field Trip

In 2024, the last Blockbuster Video store in Bend, Oregon, hosted a school field trip for first graders. Teachers brought the kids in as part of a lesson on personal heritage and what everyday life looked like when their parents and grandparents were growing up. The store used its shelves of physical movies and old-school rental setup as a living example of pre-streaming entertainment.
