Presidential Names Kept Repeating

Starting from Gerald Ford’s presidency in 1974 and ending in 2026, a curious pattern emerges: every U.S. president since then has either shared his father’s name or passed his own name to a son. Ford literally carried a “Jr.” name at birth, born Leslie Lynch King Jr., before later taking the name Gerald R. Ford Jr. Bill Clinton also fit the pattern because he was born William Jefferson Blythe III, explicitly named for his father. And the naming chain kept repeating itself in modern politics, including Joe Biden’s son, Joseph Robinette Biden III, and Donald Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr.
