The Wire Bubbles Offered Heroin

While filming The Wire in Baltimore, actor Andre Royo played Reginald "Bubbles" Cousins, a heroin-addicted informant. Royo said a local resident approached him during production, handed him a package of heroin, and told him he looked like he needed a fix. The moment hit Royo as proof that his performance looked painfully real out on the street. He later called it his "street Oscar."
