Jan Sterling Hindenburg Escape

Actress Jan Sterling once had a plane ticket to travel to the United States but spent the last of her money on lingerie she liked. She traded the airfare for passage on a steamship instead. During the voyage, she learned that the aircraft she had originally been booked on, the German airship Hindenburg, had been destroyed in a catastrophic fire in 1937. Her impulsive decision had unintentionally saved her life.
