Robert E. Howard’s Four-Year Output

Robert E. Howard’s Four-Year Output

American writer Robert E. Howard, the creator of Conan the Barbarian, produced nearly the entire Conan and King Conan saga between 1932 and 1936. During the same four-year span, he also wrote the Hyborian Age history that connected many of his characters, including Kull of Atlantis, into a shared fictional timeline. Howard accomplished all of this before the age of 30. In 1936, he died by suicide at just 30 years old, ending one of the most intense bursts of creative output in fantasy literature.
