Jonathan Nolan Wrote Dent’s Line

In the 2008 film The Dark Knight, the character Harvey Dent delivers the famous line, "You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain." Christopher Nolan directed the movie but did not write that line himself. His brother, Jonathan Nolan, created it during the scriptwriting process. Christopher Nolan later admitted he did not fully understand the line at first and said it "kills me" that it became the quote from the film that resonates most with audiences.
