Genene Jones Deadly Nurse

Genene Jones Deadly Nurse

In 1982 in Kerrville, Texas, pediatrician Dr. Kathleen Holland opened a clinic where six children suddenly stopped breathing within 31 days of visits, and 15-month-old Chelsea Ann McClellan died on September 17. Investigators discovered that nurse Genene Jones, already linked to suspicious infant deaths during the 1981–1982 “Death Shift” at Bexar County Hospital in San Antonio, had injected children with dangerous drugs such as the paralytic succinylcholine. The pattern of sudden respiratory failures triggered an investigation by the Texas Rangers, who uncovered evidence of deliberate poisoning. In 1984, authorities convicted the serial killer nurse of murder and sentenced her to 99 years in prison.
