After surviving a car accident in the 1980s, Paul Dennis Reid received a financial settlement that he used for plastic surgery to improve his appearance and pursue fame in Nashville, Tennessee, as a country singer under the stage name Justin Parks. When his music career failed and steady work proved difficult to keep, Reid drifted through low-paying jobs in the city. In 1997, he turned to robbery and murder, killing seven people during a series of fast-food restaurant attacks in Nashville and Clarksville. The crimes earned Reid the nickname βThe Fast Food Killer.β
