Marie Joseph’s Missed Pool Drowning

In June 2011, a 36-year-old woman named Marie Joseph drowned in the 12-foot-deep Vietnam Veterans Memorial Swimming Pool in Massachusetts, and her body stayed at the bottom for about two days, hidden by murky water while the busy public pool remained open. Marie Joseph had gone down the slide with a neighbor's 9-year-old son and then sunk beneath the surface; despite the boy informing lifeguards that she never resurfaced, no one found her until passersby spotted her body floating on Tuesday night.
