Nicolas Cage proposed to Patricia Arquette on the day they met, and she jokingly responded by handing him a list of impossible tasks to win her, including getting J. D. Salinger’s autograph. Cage surprised her by actually tracking down many of the items on the list, which spooked her and led her to avoid him for a while. Years later, they met again and reconnected.
