Trading Places Recast After Pryor

"Trading Places" was originally developed to star comedy duo Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder. Before the film could move forward with them, Pryor was severely injured after setting himself on fire while freebasing cocaine. With Pryor unable to take the role, the production recast the leads with Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy instead.
