Steve Carell Backed WGA Strike

Steve Carell Backed WGA Strike

During the 2008 Writers Guild of America strike, the production crew of "The Office" was ready to film the episode "The Dinner Party." Under the strike rules, any script that was already complete could still be filmed, so the episode qualified to go ahead. However, Steve Carell was also a member of the WGA and refused to cross the picket line in support of the writers. His decision kept "The Dinner Party" on hold until the show could resume work after the strike.
