Batman Returns Penguins Got Refrigeration

In 1992’s Batman Returns, the live penguins on set worked in such comfort that they had refrigerated dressing rooms and their own swimming pool. The production kept the set cold to protect the birds and maintain the right environment for them during filming. That freezing temperature left most of the human cast and crew uncomfortable. Danny DeVito was the only one who felt fine in the chill, thanks to his extensive face prosthetics, heavy padding, and thick coat for his Penguin costume.
