Mana Ashida’s Totoro-San Nickname

Mana Ashida, the young Japanese girl who played young Mako Mori in the 2013 film Pacific Rim, could not pronounce Guillermo del Toro's last name, so he told her she could call him "Totoro-san" instead, after the character from the animated film My Neighbor Totoro.
