Abba was first the name of a Swedish fish canning company formed in 1838, long before the world knew the pop group. When the Swedish pop group ABBA later negotiated with the canners for the rights to use the name, the factory agreed and said, "O.K., as long as you don't make us feel ashamed for what you're doing."
