How Men And Women Pee

Males and females finish urination differently because their bodies clear the urethra in different ways. In men, a muscle called the bulbospongiosus contracts several times at the end of peeing to squeeze out the remaining urine in the urethra. In women, the shorter urethra empties mostly by gravity instead of rhythmic squeezing. Therefore, females do not rely on the bulbospongiosus muscle to expel the remaining urine, unlike their male counterparts.
