Billy Bob Thornton Actually Drunk

Billy Bob Thornton really did get drunk for scenes in Bad Santa, including the escalator fall sequence. On the day they shot that scene, he had three glasses of red wine for breakfast, followed by vodkas with cranberry juice and then a few Bud Lights, and he actually passed out after the fall.
