Madonna Turns Ban Into Platinum

After the video for Madonna's song "Justify My Love" was banned from MTV and other networks internationally for its sexually explicit content in 1990, she pivoted by releasing it as a stand-alone video single on VHS in the United States. The release became the first short-form video to be certified multiplatinum by the RIAA.
