Jason Alexander Sings George Off-Key

Jason Alexander, a trained Broadway singer, originally recorded George Costanza’s famous answering machine song on Seinfeld so well that it sounded like a professional jingle. Larry David thought it was unbelievable for George, so he told Alexander to re-record it and intentionally sing badly. The final version that aired was a deliberately off-key performance designed to match the character’s awkward persona.
