In 1899, Belgian race car driver Camille Jenatzy became the first person to break the 100 km/h land speed record and later predicted that he would die in a Mercedes. During a hunting trip in 1913, he hid behind a bush and began making animal noises as a prank on his friends. One of them, thinking he was game, accidentally shot him. Jenatzy was placed in a Mercedes to be rushed to the hospital, where he died from his wounds, eerily fulfilling his own prediction.
