Taylor Mitchell’s Fatal Coyote Attack

In October 2009, 19-year-old Canadian folk singer Taylor Mitchell was hiking alone in Cape Breton Highlands National Park in Nova Scotia when two coyotes attacked her on the trail. Other hikers and park staff rushed to intervene, and emergency crews airlifted her to a hospital in Halifax. Despite surgery and intensive care, she died from her injuries the next day. Her case remains the only documented instance of a fatal coyote attack on an adult human.
