Prince Plays Reporters Instead Interview

Before Super Bowl XLI in 2007, NFL executives told Prince he would have to hold a standard media press conference as the halftime headliner. Prince flatly replied, "I do not do interviews," then added that he would just play for the reporters, and he walked out and performed a mini concert for the press corps. The league weighed whether to push back but ultimately decided not to jeopardize the show over a few media rules he refused to follow.
