In 2013, a 9-year-old boy in Minnesota slipped past four security checkpoints at Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport without raising suspicion and made his way onto a flight to Las Vegas. He had no identification, no boarding pass, and no parent or guardian with him, yet he still managed to board the plane. According to reports, he told authorities he was traveling to Las Vegas to see an online friend. Airline staff and security only discovered the breach after the flight was already in the air.
