Vishnu Ten Avatars World Cycle

Vishnu Ten Avatars World Cycle

According to Hindu mythology, the god Vishnu takes ten primary avatars: first as a fish, then a turtle, a boar, and a half man–half lion, with the fifth through ninth forms appearing as humans. In different ages, he descends in these forms to restore cosmic order when chaos or evil grows too strong. The tradition also speaks of a tenth avatar who has not yet appeared, a future figure who will arrive at the end of the current age. When that final avatar comes, he will destroy the world as it is, bringing the present cosmic cycle to a close before creation begins anew.
