Hercules Augean Stables Lawsuit Myth

In ancient Greek mythology, Hercules was hired by King Augeas to clean his vast, filthy stables in a single day, with the promise of a rich payment in return. Hercules completed the task by cleverly diverting two rivers through the stables, washing out years of manure in one sweep. When Augeas refused to pay and tried to deny their bargain, Hercules took him to court, where Augeas' own son testified that the agreement was real.
