Weather Underground Bombs Pentagon Restroom

In the early 1970s, the Weather Underground was an American militant radical left-wing organization that carried out a series of bombings against government and corporate targets. On May 19, 1972, the group detonated a bomb in a women’s restroom at the Pentagon as a protest against the U.S. bombing of Hanoi during the Vietnam War. They placed the device to avoid casualties, and the explosion caused damage to the building but no deaths.
