Korean War Civilian Casualty Rate

Korean War Civilian Casualty Rate

From 1950 to 1953, fighting on the Korean Peninsula killed and wounded millions of people as North Korean, Chinese, and United Nations forces battled up and down the country. Sources estimate that civilians made up a substantial share of the dead and injured in Korea, as front lines shifted through towns and cities and armies fought across densely populated areas. Historians note that the Korean War had a higher rate of civilian casualties than the later Vietnam War.
