Patrick Tadina, a 30-year U.S. Army veteran, became the longest continuously serving Ranger in Vietnam during the war. Because of his complexion and small size, he could often pass as Viet Cong by wearing pajamas and sandals and move to within just a few feet of enemy troops. Over the course of his service, he earned two Silver Stars and ten Bronze Stars, seven of them awarded for valor.
