On April 26, 1968, architecture student Kiyoshi Kuromiya and some friends at the University of Pennsylvania announced that a dog would be burned alive with napalm in front of the campus library to protest the Vietnam War. The leaflet then continued, "Now, how about saving the lives of tens of thousands of people in Vietnam?"
