Mbabaram Language Independently Says Dog

The Mbabaram language, an extinct Australian Aboriginal language from north Queensland, famously used the word "dog" to mean "dog." Linguist R. M. W. Dixon initially suspected English influence when a speaker gave him this word, but he confirmed that Mbabaram genuinely used "dog" (pronounced very close to Australian English "dog") and that it evolved independently.
