Zeuxis Versus Parrhasius Illusion Contest

Rival painters Zeuxis and Parrhasius engaged in a realism contest in ancient Greece, competing to create the most realistic imagery. It is said that Zeuxis unveiled grapes so convincing that birds swooped down to peck them, and when he asked Parrhasius to draw back the curtain on his painting, Zeuxis was fooled and realized the curtain itself was paint and conceded defeat.
