Ted Bundy's 1977 Window Escape

In 1977 in Aspen, Colorado, Ted Bundy was allowed to appear in court without handcuffs or leg shackles because he acted as his own attorney. The extra freedom let him move around the law library on the second floor. He used the opportunity to jump out of a second-story window and escape from custody. Authorities recaptured him six days later.
