Captain Video and His Video Rangers

Airing from 1949 to 1955, Captain Video and His Video Rangers was one of television's first science fiction series, running an astonishing 1,537 episodes. Despite its massive output, only about 20 episodes survive today. The rest were destroyed when the original kinescope recordings were dumped into the ocean off the coast of New York, erasing nearly all traces of early sci-fi television history.
