Joss Whedon's Buffy Ultimatum

In 2001 on the WB, Buffy the Vampire Slayer aired "The Body" episode, where Willow and Tara share their first on-screen kiss. Network executives pushed back, and Joss Whedon told them the moment was true to character and not negotiable. He said he would quit the show if they forbade it, and the lesbian kiss aired.
