Turkey Household Gold Hoards (5,000 Tons)

In July 2025, the Istanbul Jewelers Chamber said Turkish households are estimated to hold about 5,000 tons of gold at home, outside the banking system. That's roughly $500 billion (at that time), and it was noted that many families prefer to hold savings at home.
