In 2011, 61-year-old Englishman named Steve Whiteley turned a 2-pound Tote Jackpot bet at Exeter Racecourse into 1.4 million pounds, the largest Tote Jackpot dividend at the time. He picked six winners, including Lupita, which had not won in its previous 26 races, and jockey Jessica Lodge, who earned her first career win; Whiteley said he chose the last pick because "Lodge is just a name that sticks in my head."
