Howard Unruh New Jersey Rampage

In 1949, World War II veteran Howard Unruh walked through his Camden, New Jersey, neighborhood and shot 13 people dead in just 12 minutes. His "walk of death" ended after Unruh retreated to his apartment and surrendered after officers fired tear gas. A judge later found him not guilty by reason of insanity, and he spent the rest of his life confined at Trenton Psychiatric Hospital, where he died in 2009. He is recognized as one of the first mass shooters in the USA.
