Quantum Field Theory's Big Error

Quantum Field Theory's Big Error

Quantum field theory predicts that the energy density of empty space should be around 10⁸ GeV⁴. In 2015, observations measured it to be about 2.5 × 10⁻⁴⁷ GeV⁴. The discrepancy is so large that it exceeds the predicted value by roughly 1 octodecillion percent, and so physicists often call it "the worst theoretical prediction in the history of physics."
