When filming the video for "A Thousand Miles," Vanessa Carlton performed live while riding through the streets with no green screen or visual effects used. Crews mounted her piano and bench on a custom dolly and flatbed truck to transport her smoothly. She even wore a seatbelt hidden under her skirt to stay strapped into the bench during the shoot.
