Ludacris Joins 2 Fast 2 Furious

After rapper Ja Rule declined a $500,000 offer to return in 2 Fast 2 Furious, director John Singleton grew frustrated with him not returning calls. Singleton remarked that Ja Rule acted as though he was too big for the sequel. Singleton immediately offered the role to Ludacris, despite never having met him before.
