Tiamat's Tail and the Milky Way

In the Babylonian creation epic Enūma Eliš, the god Marduk defeats the primordial sea dragon Tiamat and uses her body to form the universe. From her severed tail, he fashions the shimmering band of stars we now call the Milky Way.
