Forgotten Prisoner Survives 18 Days

In 1979, an Austrian man named Andreas Mihavecz was accidentally left in a police holding cell and forgotten for 18 days. Without food or water, he survived only by licking condensation from the walls. He later became known for holding the record for the longest verified survival without nourishment, and the officers responsible were only fined for negligence.
