Welchia Worm Tries to Patch Windows

In 2003, a self-spreading computer worm known as Welchia began infecting Windows systems worldwide. Instead of stealing data or damaging files, it attempted to download Microsoft security patches and even removed the harmful Blaster worm from infected machines. Despite being called a "helpful worm," Welchia still clogged networks and overloaded systems, causing major disruptions across organizations.
